You're in luck! The Lit Girl is currently accepting requests for book reviews.
Have you just written an awesome book and would like it reviewed? Are you representing a book you believe in that you want the rest of the world to believe in, too? I'd love to see what you have to offer, but before you send it along, please read the following:
One of the things I am most proud of with The Lit Girl is the diverse range of books I tend to read. I tend to lean towards the Young Adult genre, and all of the categories within (romantic, contemporary, historical, dystopia, science fiction, etc). I also enjoy literary fiction, historical fiction, dystopia, horror, memoir, and non-fiction. I will consider requests for adult romance and erotica, but it is not a guarantee. I am pretty picky when it comes to that genre, but I do not shy away from it!
Each one of my reviews comes with a photo, synopsis, and my honest opinions of the novel. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but honestly, it sometimes happens. However, even in my negative reviews, I try to find a positive aspect to point out, and I do my best to be thorough and direct instead of harsh and negative. As a writer myself, I always follow the mantra of, 'don't write a review you wouldn't want written about your own work.' Even in a negative review, I would like a review of my own work to be constructive and honest. That said, a positive review cannot be bought, and I'd like to have an honest relationship with my readers and I value my own true opinions.
Each review also contains an outline of the title, author, publisher, publication date, page count, format, and a 1-5 rating.
As a book hoarder and collector, I love to have a hard copy in my hands. However, I do have a Kindle and can accept e-books, as well as .pdf format files.
So what do I need from you?
Besides the book (obviously :)), when requesting a book review, please send along the title of the book, author, cover art, release date, and brief synopsis. As stated above, each request cannot be guaranteed to be accepted, though I am always on the hunt for new pieces to read and will consider every request I receive. Also, please let me know if there is a specific turnaround time you would like to see the review in (before the release date, two weeks, etc). I am also willing to conduct an interview with the author of the book if it is one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Please e-mail me at: firstname.lastname@example.org . I can't wait to hear from you!
